On Saturday 28th August 2010 the Knighton Show & Carnival will be a spectacular show of horticulture, floral and handicraft exhibitions, vintage cars, equine competitions, dog shows, loads for the kids and, of course, the increasingly popular food stalls

This year sees some fantastic attractions to accompany traditional favourites including the ever popular Shire Horse competition, attracting entrants from all over the country. Dressed in their traditional harnesses and brasses, these amazing animals form a colourful and spectacular part of the mid day procession as they parade through the streets of the town.
The Knighton show has grown year on year, this year's show will see some exciting attractions and entertainment including the Titan Robot and the return of the eternally popular and totally stunning Black Eagles troupe of acrobats from Tanzania.
The day starts at 10am in the horse rings with the judging of the horses. The Dog Show runs through the afternoon with several classes to appeal to dog lovers of all ages.
The carnival procession takes place at noon and again in the evening and is always a dazzling display of local talent. On the subject of talent, this year's show will see a performance from the Knighton's Got Talent competition winners. This is in addition to music from the Newtown Youth Marching Corps, Jazz Bands and, of course the Knighton Town Silver Band. The Theme this year will be A to Zee of TV leaving plenty of scope to suit everyone. We should see some very imaginative entrants in the carnival procession!

Come along and see the Titan Robot. Four years in the making, "Titan" is an 8ft tall, fully articulated, interactive Robot which will cause an enormous stir! You've never seen anything quite like this before and you will simply never forget it! Entertainment will also be provided by George Orange. George trained extensively in clowning, mime and circus and has been performing professionally since 1994. He has performed on stage, in circus, cruise ships, fine art galleries and in baseball stadiums. His charming, mostly non-verbal, visual show will hold you captivated. Joining in the carnival procession and performing in the main arena are the Black Eagles, A troupe of totally stunning acrobats from Tanzania, now based in the UK. Set to lively African music, the show progresses through a series of powerful and graceful acrobatic and dance routines. A high impact, joyful show that will have you gasping in amazement.
In addition, there are the traditional favourites including Axe Racing, Tug of War competitions, 5 a side Football, Bouncy Castles, Inflatable's and Free Donkey Rides for the kids. Something new for 2010 sees the introduction of the XTreme Trampoline for the more adventurous amongst you.
Vintage Vehicles and Classic Cars from Knighton Historic Vehicle Club will be on display. In the Drill Hall will be an exhibit of Model Railways. The model railways welcome new exhibitors so let us know if you would like to get involved. The Community Centre will house the craft and horticultural displays along with refreshments.
Don't miss the Carnival Processions - the first at 12.30pm and the next at 8.30pm all on the theme of A to Zee of TV. The day and evening culminates with a Grand Firework Display on Bryn-y-Castell.
